Roji Cafe is an interior concept emerging from the study of natural light phenomena. The objective was to reproduce a certain quality of light, in this case a sunset, in the built environment. Through surface material and artifical and natural light sources, visual and emotional continuity is acheived. The name Roji refers to the garden for which one passes through to reach the Chashitsu for the tea ceremony. The Roji was intended to break connection with the outside world, and produce a fresh sensation conducive to the full enjoyment of aestheticism. Much like the Roji garden, this cafe is meant to seperate patrons from the outside world. Providing them the serenity when viewing a sunset.
